Funeral services for Juanita Burton, 87, of Villisca, Iowa, will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2010, at the Wolfe Funeral Home of Villisca. Ms. Burton passed away Tuesday, July 6th at the Villisca Good Samaritan Center.
Juanita Lucille Burton was born April 18, 1923, to Floyd Fast and Mary Ellen (Mitchell) Fast in Montgomery County Iowa. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1941. In February of 1942 she was united in marriage to Gerald Hall in St. Joseph, Missouri. Two children were born to this union, Cheryle Ellen and Gerry Michael. Gerald passed away in 1972. Juanita married Edgar Burton in 1973.
Juanita was a teller at Nodaway Valley National Bank in Villisca. Later she worked as the secretary and office manager for Clinton Allen Monument in both the Red Oak and Clarinda offices for eighteen years before retiring in 1987. She began baby sitting in 1990 and continued until 2001. She also transported children to church, people to appointments, and provided home health care for those in need.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Gerald Hall and Edgar Burton, son Gerry Hall, brothers Clark Fast and Wayne Fast.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryle (Tony) Estenoz, grandson Tony Estenoz, granddaughter Sonja Peagler, great grandchildren Alana, Tony, and Rachel all of Key West, Florida; daughter-in-law Mary Hall, granddaughters Kari Sue and Mary Ellen all of Omaha, Nebraska; brother Orville (Peggy) Fast and sister Joan (Robert) Watts all of Villisca; sister Janice (Stanley) Peterson of Stanton; sister Mary (Mons) Roll of Colorado Springs, Colorado; niece Judy (Jim) Taylor of Orange City, Iowa; and many other nieces and nephews.
