Stanton, age 55, passed away July 9, 2010 at his home in Claflin, Kan. He was born February 10, 1955 at Clarinda, Iowa to Walter G. and Evelyn (Hargis) Stanton. He married Deb Lanning march 19, 1983 at Glenwood, Iowa. He was a coach for USD 354, Claflin, and worked for Kaiser Trash Service. Mr. Stanton was a Claflin, Kan., resident since 1999, coming from Great Bend, Kan. Survivors are his wife, Deb Stanton, of the home; parents Walter G. and Evelyn Stanton, College Springs, Iowa; three sons, Ty Stanton of Savannah, Mo., Cody Stanton of Savannah, Mo., Dillon Stanton of Glenwood, Iowa; two daughters, Star Stanton of Wichita, Kan., Tia Stanton of the home; one sister, Cindy Stanton McConohay of Glenwood, Iowa; four brothers: Denny Stanton of Clarinda, Iowa Jerry Stanton of Clarinda, Iowa, Terry Stanton of Shenandoah, Iowa, Tim Stanton of Glenwood, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jordan Stanton, Carli Stanton, Jadon Stanton, Myles Stanton, and McKenzie Stanton. Memorial service was held Monday, July 12, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home with The Rev. John Grummon officiating. A private family inurnment was held.
